Eastern Region Engineering Campus (Purwanchal Campus) is situated in beautiful town Dharan of Sunsari district of eastern region of Nepal. This campus is one of the associate engineering campuses of Institute of Engineering under Tribhuvan University. It was established in 1978 under the loan agreement between the Asian Development Bank and His Majesty's Government of Nepal. The loan agreement was around five million US Dollars. The technical assistance was provided by the government of United Kingdom. The campus firstly started trade level courses in Mechanical, Electrical and Civil engineering subjects as specified in the loan and the project agreements. Presently, it is offering diploma courses in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering and from 2000/2001 academic year bachelor degree course in Agriculture Engineering has also been started.

St. Xavier's College is one of Nepal's premier learning institutions, which was established as a high school in 1988, but now also offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business, social science, humanities, and information management. Bhanubhakta Memorial Higher Secondary School, established in 1967 AD to the blessed memory of the pioneer poet late Bhanubhakta Acharya – a renowned figure of Nepali literature, has come a long way since its modest beginning in a rented building 33 years back and aims at imparting quality education to the students at an affordable price in the capital city of Nepal. Registration and Admission


Registration for the new session begins in the first week of April.
Application form and prospectus can be obtained from the Reception.
Dully filled-up forms must be submitted to the coordinator of admission before the deadline set by the school.
All prospective entrants must appear in a comprehensive test administered by the school. Only successful students are granted admission to an appropriate class.
Candidates who have attended other schools cannot be enrolled until a Transfer Certificate from the previous school is produced.
A candidate selected for admission to an appropriate class can be enrolled only on payment of admission fees and security deposit (refundable).

B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) was established on January 18, 1993 and subsequently upgraded as an Autonomous Health Sciences University on October 28, 1998 with a mandate to work towards developing socially responsible and competent health work force, providing health care and engaging in health research. The Institute is located in Eastern Nepal & it has extended its continued health services through teaching district concept to Primary Health Care Centers, District Hospitals and Zonal Hosptals in six districts of the region.




This Institute is envisaged as one of the finest examples of Indo-Nepal Co-operation. The Health Ministers of the two countries signed the Indo-Nepal agreement for establishment of BPKIHS on the auspicious day of Mahashivaratri (March 10, 1994).

This University is aptly named after Bisheshwar Prasad Koirala, Nepal's visionary leader in social upliftment, firm believer of National Reconciliation and National Integration. Situated in Dharan in the hilly slopes sprawled over an area of about 700 acres, the University has a clean pollution free environment, and water supply and electricity supply round the clock. The Institute is fully committed to its social responsibility and accountability.

COLLEGE OF DENTAL SURGERY

College of Dental Surgery, BPKIHS has come into existence on August 1999 as a pioneer of Dental Education in Nepal. The College is committed to contribute towards providing dental surgeons who are knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate, and at the same time equipped with leadership and teaching abilities. This College is also providing quality oral health service to the people of Nepal considering health statistics and national health policy of Nepal. The College was started at previously existed old buildings located at south point of campus with 74 dental chairs with all minimum requirements. The College shifted to its new building on 7th February 2004. Area allotted for the College is 6.77 hectares and total build up area is 120000 Sq. ft. The building has all infrastructures which are required for smooth functioning of a dental college and hospital. We believe this hospital is a model dental college and hospital of this country. At present the college has 131 dental colleges with all other major equipments like OPG, RVG, IOPA, Phantom heads, Central Air Compressors, LP Gas supply unit etc.

BDS PROGRAMME

BDS course at BPKIHS is landmark for Dental Education in Nepal and is the first course in the country. The Dental Education at BPKIHS started on August 1999 with the intake of first batch of 40 BDS students.


Duration of the Course

The course of studies leading to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree of the BPKIHS consists of 5½ academic years including 1-year Community Oriented Compulsory Residential Rotatory Internship.

Admission Requirement

Selection purely by merit on the basis of Entrance Examination students having twelve years of schooling with science, such as I. Sc., CBSE board etc. or GCE Advanced Level are eligible to appear in Entrance examination.
